This was a very helpful strategy by author Tim Ferriss. This is one of his strategies for getting "un-stuck" when fear keeps you from moving towards your goals. He call sit "Fear Setting" (instead of "goal setting").
Basic Summary: Identify your fears, think about what the worst REALISTIC outcome might be, and come up with a plan for how you can mitigate it or fix it.
This allows you to focus on the aspects of the potential problem you have control over, keeping you from feeling helpless.
